Group survival duration (Kaplan Meier) and QoL (EORTC QLQ-C30) were compared. Predictors of weight stability were determined using logistic regression analysis. Results: Patients with weight stabilisation survived longer from baseline (log rank test 5.53, P=0.019). They also reported higher QoL scores (P=0.037) and a greater mean energy intake (P<0.001) at Week 8 than those who continued to lose weight. The absence of nausea and vomiting (OR 6.5, P=0.010) and female gender (OR 5.2, P=0.020) were independent determinants of weight stabilisation. Conclusions: Weight stabilisation over an 8 week period in weight-losing patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer was associated with improved survival duration and QoL.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:28:12 AEDT ]]> Towards better teaching: productive pedagogy as a framework for teacher education https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1807 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:27:34 AEDT ]]> Numerical modelling of gas-liquid flow in stirred tanks https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1739 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:27:29 AEDT ]]> Mineral matter-organic matter association characterisation by QEMSCAN and applications in coal utilisation https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1752 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:27:25 AEDT ]]> Statistical observations of spatial characteristics of Pi1B pulsations https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1987 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:27:09 AEDT ]]> Modified norcantharidins: synthesis, protein phosphatases 1 and 2A inhibition, and anticancer activity https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3327 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:23:19 AEDT ]]> Couples' experiences of postnatal depression: a framing analysis of cultural identity, gender and communication https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3681 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:23:03 AEDT ]]> The St Ives mesothermal gold system, Western Australia: a case of golden aftershocks? https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3424 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:21:37 AEDT ]]> Long chain amines and long chain ammonium salts as novel inhibitors of dynamin GTPase activity https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3266 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:21:22 AEDT ]]> Synthesis and biological evaluation of bicyclic and tricyclic substituted nortropane derivatives: discovery of a novel selective alpha 1D-adrenergic receptor ligand https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3428 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:20:26 AEDT ]]> In-situ neutron diffraction of titanium silicide, Ti₅Si₃, during self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3434 100 K/s. Despite the existence of four other titanium silicides (TiSi₂, TiSi, Ti₅Si₄, Ti₃Si) evidence of these or other intermediate phases was not found in either the pre-heating or reaction stages of the process.
